Michael Jackson (discovered 2013)

my most favorite ever since i was in elementary. an american singer, songwriter, dancer, and philanthropist - that fundamentally influenced pop culture.

i discovered him through my family (they are mega fans), and instantly fell in love with his WHOLE discography. i personally think he doesn't have ONE bad song.

Blur (discovered 2016)

an english rock band formed in 1988 and helped define the britpop genre.

i discovered them through Gorillaz back around 2016, since the lead singer, damon albarn, is the singing vocal for Gorillaz's lead singer 2D. i immediately fell in love with their sound, and how they started to experiment later in their band days.

Abandoned Pools (discovered 2020)

a solo musician started around 2001 and to me is one of the most underrated alt rock musicians.

i discovered him at the start of 2020, most notibly through Clone High because of it's theme song and other featured tracks in the show. i soon decided to listen to his other works and instantly got hooked with his debut album Humanistic.

Queen (discovered 2018)

an english rock band formed in 1970 and is my most favorite rock 70s bands EVER. even got me more into the classic rock genre.

i discovered them through my classic rock fixation around 2018-2019, and started getting attached to their whole discography and history during the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic era.

Gorillaz (discovered 2016)

an english virtual band formed in 1998 that inspires me artistically and musically.

i discovered them sometime around 2016-2018 when i first listened to their track called "DARE" from their second album Demon Days. their music, music videos, and story telling pulled me in HARD and stuck with me since middle school.

Björk (discovered 2018)

an icelandic singer and musician with a very distinct voice and beautiful style in musical choices and style.

i discovered her in 2018 mostly through my brother who is a pretty big fan of her. her debut album literally called Debut sparked interest in me when i heard "Venus as a Boy". and not only her music but her public persona.

Lush (discovered 2018)

another english rock band formed in 1987 that helped me discover a rock subgenre known as "shoegazing".

i discovered them through Rock Band 2, and fell in love with how dreamy and beautiful their sound was. which lead me down the road of other subgenres beyond the dream pop genre. rest in peace Chris Acland.

12/2/2025 - started listening to homogenic again by björk and ugh that album is so good, i forget joga is so beautiful.

11/27/2025 - finished my favorite artists and collections tabs! some albums i don't remember when they were originally acquired but its whateva.

11/24/2025 - been going on a gorillaz album binge againnn. im convinced plastic beach is actually their best album (as said by jerma). thank the lord i have it as a vinyl.
